A stroll around West Beach and the back of the golf course this morning proved very quiet, singles of Wheatear and Cetti's Warbler were the highlights, with a few Sandwich Tern offshore, with several of each Reed Warbler, Whitethroat and Blackcap and evidence of breeding Meadow Pipit.

Onto Marsh Farm with 2-3 Cuckoo flying around the area, pairs of Common Tern, Great-crested Grebe, and Pochard, good numbers of Reed Warbler still singing with lesser numbers of Sedge,Yellowhammer, and Reed Bunting, 7 Swift, 2 Cetti's Warbler  and singles of Lapwing, and Grey Heron.

Highlight of a quiet morning was a single Great-northern Diver from Climping car park., also the ever present small number of Gannets and Sandwich Tern moving offshore, the best of the rest being:

An hour seawatch from 06:50 at Climping Beach this morning produced;

Gannet - 53e 9w
Sandwich Tern - 15e 4w
Fulmar - 1w
Common Scoter - 5w

Auk sp - 1e 1w

Hobby - 1 flew west over bread lane

On Tuesday 12th a good count of 16 Reed Warbler in the patch also 1 Spotted Flycatcher in first wood.

c70 Gannet offshore this morning following a pair of trawlers, but little else moving, although 7 Great-crested Grebe on the sea. A Hobby dashed through east over bread lane at 07:30, 2 Grey Partridge and 4 Wheatear around west beach, 4 Spotted Fly in the area and singing Cetti's Warbler was the best of the rest.

Another attempt at a sea watch at Climping this morning which proved uneventful with the usual mix of Gannet and Sandwich Tern offshore, small numbers of Swallow moving north with just a couple of Swift. Combined totals for this morning:

 Not a vintage day by any means with the wind too westerly and too strong! But still a few things in a watch from 10.50-11.20 and 11.30-12.30 near the carpark and between there and Climping Gap. Plus behind the golf course and along to the car park from 10.00 to 10.50

Combined records for Monday 4th May, and the best sighting of the day was a large pod of  probable Dolphins off Climping Beach moving west, also good number of Gannets offshore following the trawlers so numbers may be duplicated. numbers of Swallow moving through north.
